By putting their trust in God’s plan, Christians can learn how to overcome life’s hardships and become more resilient.
In God Outfoxed Great Leaders and Satan, Reverend Geary Reid discusses how Christians can persevere through trying times. Though some challenges may seem too difficult to bear, Christians must remember that God has a plan for them, and every obstacle He puts in their path has an innate purpose. God will never abandon those who believe in Him; indeed, He is always there to offer guidance and support. Notably, God cares for all His people, and He does not want them to suffer needlessly. As Reid notes, Christians cannot give up on God, no matter how difficult the circumstances may be. In the end, everything happens for a reason, and God will never lead His people astray.
Certainly, God always has a plan, and nothing will affect its outcome. For instance, even though Satan tried to outwit God by tempting Adam and Eve into sin, God responded by sending down Jesus to save humanity. Hearing of this, Satan tried to disrupt Joseph’s and Mary’s relationship, but he was unsuccessful. Later, when Satan attempted to use King Herod to kill young Jesus, God again bested him, proving that God is always one step ahead of Satan. Thus, Christians must trust in God’s plan and remember that every storm, no matter how bleak, will eventually pass, and happier times are just beyond the horizon.
Introduction
There is no problem that can overtake believers, as God can deliver them from anything. The Lord often wants to see if his children will put him first in their lives when the storms come, and if they will trust him to redirect or cancel the storms. Believers are often afraid when the problems are many and seem overwhelming. However, God will not leave his children to suffer. He knows their pains and will not give them more than they can bear.
After Adam and Eve sinned, God had a plan to save humanity, and he was not quiet in making his plan known. According to this plan, Jesus had to come to the earth and save humanity. Satan knew about God’s plan to send his only begotten Son to save the world from their sins, so Satan tried everything to disrupt the relationship between Joseph and Mary. He failed in that attempt, so he then worked through King Herod to try to kill Jesus while he was a child. God was always ahead of Satan and Herod’s plans, and he redirected Joseph and his family to Egypt by night. Joseph heard from the angel three times in his decision-making. All this happened because God was directing the life of Jesus, since the purpose of Jesus had to be fulfilled. In the wilderness, Jesus outfoxed the plans of Satan. When Satan conspired to kill Jesus, he only allowed the will of God to be fulfilled, and Jesus now lives in the hearts of many believers.
Joseph was called by God at a tender age, but his dreams upset his family. His brethren wanted to kill him, but God redirected their plan, and they sold him to the Midianites. Even the Midianites did not have any specific purpose for Joseph, and he was sold to Potiphar. When Potiphar’s wife falsely accused Joseph, he was sent to prison. While Joseph was in prison, Pharaoh had a dream that only Joseph could interpret. After Joseph was brought from prison and accurately interpreted Pharaoh’s dream, he was promoted to his intended position.
God hardened Pharaoh’s heart to follow the children of Israel. All that was done because God wanted to outfox Pharaoh’s army and kill them in the sea. Goliath was strong and feared by many persons. However, God used a wildcard contender named David to outfox him, and with one shot, Goliath was a dead man.
The army against Jehoshaphat was great. However, after Jehoshaphat and the children of Judah prayed, God outfoxed and destroyed their enemies. King Nebuchadnezzar thought that he was a great leader and that everyone must bow down to him. However, God proved to him otherwise, and he respected the God of the three Jewish men. Daniel’s promotion was delayed because other leaders hated him. King Darius listened to their evil plan and caused Daniel to be thrown in the lions’ den. However, God shut the lions’ mouths, and King Darius respected the God of Daniel. Daniel was eventually promoted. Saul went after believers, but Jesus confronted him on the road of Damascus and his mission changed forever. Saul would no longer persecute the believers but instead work for the Lord. There will always be problems that believers have to face, but God does not want them to fear, since he will deliver them from every problem.
